Ginger’s Sheep

We started shearing at Bungadeen,
The roughest sheep that’s ever been seen;
The owner stood and watched all day,
The ringer said, “This will never pay.
To make a tally we must shear them rough –
The rate we’re on is not nearly enough.”

So we held a swarm on the board next day,
And we asked the boss for a raise in pay;
But all that he raised was his ginger eye-brows,
And left us there with a frown on ours.
So we walked off the board and loaded the truck,
And w went into town to turn our luck.
